Narrowbanding

Does Your Call Sign
Require Narrowbanding?

You may already have completed your equipment narrowbanding, but have you taken proper action to update your FCC licenses?  Radiosoft has created a software program that will allow you enter your FCC call signs and determine whether you need to file a license modification to update your emission designator.  The Radiosoft program can be accessed here.

Is My Equipment Narrowband Ready?
You should contact your manufacturer to determine whether your existing equipment is narrowband capable. The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) published a story listing some land mobile equipment that is narrowband capable. You may view the story here: http://www.apcointl.com/frequency/documents/narrowbandingequipment.pdf
